love this new visual piece- the collage. I kept scrolling up to find the corresponding picture! And I agree with Casey- and how sweet and beautiful the image is of a child coloring at the table versus having a screen on--you're so good to note it and record it. The martians that keep an eye on us, hoping we'll get it right- will probably use that data point to make a case we still have a chance...thanks to your beautiful writing. xoxo
I’m cracking up because I’m on Iron Flame and do I know what’s happening? Absolutely not. But do I keep reading for a chapter here and there of smut? Absolutely.
During Covid we watched Alone and I want my dad to go one because he may go crazy but he’d win lol.
And now I can’t wait for T to eat buttered noodles (or something a little more refined because Julien won’t allow anything else) but baby steps!
How refreshing to see a child coloring in a coloring book instead of their nose in an electronic device! As a retired teacher it’s refreshing to hear this. Thanks for the book recommendations as well. I’m reading Jane and Dan at the End of the World and loving it! So different from anything else I’ve read in a long time. Enjoy your weekend with the in-laws.
Another home run! I was so pleased to read the entry about the youngster in the restaurant. First off as an Early Childhood Specialist I was so pleased to read that he was coloring and he and the parent’s were not on their phones or tablets. I personally was in a posh restaurant in the Berkshires where a couple and their approximately 6/7 yr old youngster came in and were seated next to me. Immediately the mom took out the tablet and handed it to the boy and the parents took out and were engrossed in their phones the whole evening and never interacted with each other or with the child except about his food order. I was so shocked! This went on for 2 hrs and no interaction with their son or themselves!!! You see this a lot in eating establishments, stores, cars etc The parents could be increasing their children’s vocabularies and awareness skills be conversing etc! Very sad! Downside of phones and tablets for sure!!! People have forgotten how to interact. You and Austin certainly don’t.
Your observation skills are always right on and it so refreshing to read your work.
I saw GIRL FROM NORTH COUNTRY on PBS television Friday evening. I have to say it was great but having seen it live the TV version was a tad disappointing. In the theatre you get a panorama and are able to see all the action going on on the entire stage. In the television version it highlighted all the action occuring in the forefront and the background was really hardly shown in the frames. It was great though and Austin was amazing and his scenes were filmed well. His voice and acting were over the top live and on tv. Such a talented and gifted actor. I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend with your in-laws. Happy Memorial Day! 🇺🇸
This moment of beauty melted my heart!! Sounds like a perfect meal tbh
agreed!!
