March: THE BIG FIVE

Five things that rocked my world in March

1. The Signature Combo from Olde Brooklyn Bagel Shoppe. Delicious. Unique. Perfection. Here’s the description: Feta cheese and hard boiled eggs, olive oil and a sprinkling of Za'atar seasoning on a scooped and toasted sesame seed bagel. I took a risk with this order and I was well rewarded. I wish I had a photo.

2. Mules. I bought these shoes to wear to work (and beyond) and quite frankly I feel like I’m wearing slippers, they’re that comfortable. I wanted something slightly less bulky than the Birkenstock mule and

   recommended them and in Allison Bornstein we trust. My feet never hurt, even after standing for 4-5 hours, the strap in the back makes walking a breeze, and the suede material gives them a chic vibe!

3. I baked the best thing I’ve ever baked this month. I couldn’t believe it but when I took a bite of these whole wheat banana muffins…I didn’t have a single criticism. That’s fun. I used this recipe (I used olive oil instead of coconut, btw) and added whipped cottage cheese (sorry mama but I swear you can’t taste it) and chopped walnuts for extra protein. Made a double batch, dropped some off for my newly postpartum and darling friend, and froze the rest for Austin and I to munch on throughout the week.

4. I’d heard great things about the movie Stutz and finally gave it a watch! 10/10. I took copious notes. I think it’s a great example of what quality therapy looks like and I genuinely think anyone who watches it will learn something. Plus the relationship between Jonah Hill and his therapist is heartwarming and tender and aspirational.

5. My mamacita sent me a care package (and all my siblings, and all our significant others) and it sparked a lot of joy. She’s just the best.

March was long and tricky, overall. Onward with the April showers.
